About me

Achter elke atleet schuilt een verhaal. Mijn verhaal begon reeds vroeg. Het was eigenlijk mijn mama die mij op atletiekgedachten bracht. Als kleine spruit ging ik reeds mee joggen in het Geertbos, niet ver van ons huis. Op dat moment kreeg ik de kriebels echt te pakken. Op de leeftijd van zeven jaar, schreef ik mij in bij Vlierzele Sportief. Alle trainingen waren in het begin vooral spelgericht  maar ik was reeds vanaf jonge leeftijd zeer competitief aangelegd. Eenmaal de techniektrainingen de overhand namen wist ik al zeer snel dat ik me ook later niet op één enkele discipline wou toeleggen. Ik hou echt van afwisseling en meerkamp zou ik echt niet meer kunnen missen! Ook de sfeer die er tussen de verschillende atleten hangt en de band die je met hen creëert, kan je niet vergelijken met andere disciplines.

Behind every athlete hides a story. My own story started quite early. It was my mother who brought me to think about athletics. As a little girl I was already jogging in the Geertbos , close to our home. During this period it really started to itch. At age seven, I enrolled in the sports club Vlierzele Sportief. In the beginning, all the trainings focused on the game, but immediately I focused on competition. When the technical trainings took the upper hand , I knew straight away that I never wanted to choose one specialisation. I like variety and I could never miss combined events. The atmosphere amongst the athletes and the bond that you create with them, can’t be compared to other disciplines.
